At 8 weeks of age your puppy will be sent home with you eating regular puppy food. We feed our adult dogs and puppies 4Health . It can be purchased at your local tractor supply store. If you decide to feed your puppy a different dog food, no problem, just mix half of 4Health with your new food of choice to slowly get your puppy used to his/her new food since their little tummies are sensitive at this age.
Within 72 hrs of your pick up of your puppy, we ask that you schedule an apt at your local vet for his/her 9 week shots and a check up. If your puppy is picked up after 8-9 weeks of age we will administer 9 weeks shots to keep up to date on his/her shots. It is very important to keep regular visits with your veterinarian to maintain puppies health with proper vaccinations and supplements.
Proper coat care will be needed of your puppy, frequent bathing and brushing is recommended. We like to use an oatmeal shampoo on our dogs due to our dry weather in the cooler months. Over bathing your golden can dry out his or her skin. Simple daily brushing will maintain your goldens natural oils to keep a beautiful coat.
Flea and tick season is upon us. We recommend Frontline Plus.
